Now that you have all this great content on your blog, you need someone to read it.  How do you get people to come to it or even know it’s there? You are writing on it everyday and no one is visiting, your counter just isn’t going up much at all. What you have to do now is get your blog out there where people will see it and be interested in it. This is what is referred to as getting traffic. There are many ways to build a good flow of traffic to your site.
You have to advertise it. It takes a little effort to get traffic going to your blog but it is worth it because if you keep it up it has a tendency to snowball. You do need to have good content, things that people will be interested in reading or they will quickly move on to the next site. Good content in itself creates traffic, but to speed things up, here are some things you can do.
Sign up for Bloglet and get other people to sign up. Anyone you know that might be interested in blogging.
Go to www.pingomatic.com and use it to ping your blog. You can do this anytime you update your blog.
Put your feed on My Yahoo, this will get your site crawled by the yahoo search engines.
Use images on your blog, it makes it more interesting and attracts traffic.
Visit other blogger’s sites, especially the ones with content like yours. Leave them a comment and they will usually come and visit your site.
List it with the search engines. A good one to use is www.submitfire.com
Make a link to go in your email and any online forums you are a member of.
Include a link on all pages of your site.
Use a link whenever you send anything.
Put it in your newsletters
Fliers, business cards and any other advertising you use should contain your blog link.
Get your RSS feed to let others  sign up and read all your updates.
Every time you make a new entry it alerts the search engines, so keep posting.
Get plenty of back links, the search engines like these.
Write for article directories and use your blog url in the author box.
Get a counter to keep track of how many visits you have and look at other useful information about your visitors.
This will get you some visitors coming to your blog. There are many more ways to get your blog rank up as you will discover after you get started.  Keep working on it daily if possible even if it is just for a few minutes.
